I hear ya there.

About once or twice a month I have these bouts where it's 36-48 hours without sleep, and not for not wanting to sleep either, just can't.

feel you there. If I can't get to sleep by 3 at the very latest and I have to be awake in the morning I just stay awake. . It's not the best option but it is better than sleeping through what I was supposed to be awake for. It really sucks since I've had this horrible sleeping condition since I was a child.

When it happens to me I just stay awake too. I actually feel worse if I try to sleep for couple of hours and get up again as opposed to just toughing it out and staying awake.

I'll usually hit my second wind after about 24-28 hours and I'm good for at least another 12 if not more.

The last time it happened was a full-on 36 hour stretch, and by that time I thought I was finally tired. My sister and a couple friends came to visit and I got up to show them out about 9PM. By the time my head hit the pillow I hit a third wind and ended up awake until midnight before I finally slept.

I think I'm one of the lucky ones out of people who suffer from insomnia. This type of thing only hits me about once or twice a month, and I've just learned to roll with it, and have even gotten to the point where I'm actually productive during these times. I hear stories about some folks not being able to get more than three or four hours of sleep a week.

Get a script for Provigal, shit will make sure you stay awake when you need to and reset your clock. I have to do it every now and then, Iwill stay a wake for a couple days and then want to sleep during daylight, pop the provigal in the morning and push through till evening and sleep like baby. Get a red or dark tint screen filter app for your phone/tablet too, that helps me as well. the bright white light from the screen keeps your mind thinking its daytime.

I think my problem is that my body wants to be asleep during the day and awake at night. I really wish I could sleep. I got hit with the nod offs earlier but as soon as those hit I'm back to being wide awake. I know saturday I will probably be out for a good 12 hours or so.
